Our Sheroes’ Hangout, a model café project to benefit acid attack survived women have been appreciated by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of India. The award was received by one of our doyenne acid attack survivor Roopa by the Honorable President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee in Rashtrapati Bhavan on the 8th March 2017 celebrated as International Women’s Day. Following the day she was also appreciated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shree Narendra Modi.

Stop Acid Attacks was chosen as the winner in the category of Social Change. The award was received by prominent activist & the Director Alok Dixit for his relentless campaign Stop Acid Attacks in India and to the remarkable initiative of the Sheroes’ Hangout model café project to benefit women who have faced acid attacks in their past.
